Tu Lane’s interest in Asian paintings developed in the early 1990’s, at a time when contemporary artists in Asia, especially Vietnamese, were evolving and beginning to express new and bold artistic ideas to the wider world. It was also at this time when her life took a major turn as she left Vietnam to study in Hong Kong, and settled there with her husband. This led to an even deeper understanding of the international art scene and the experience in analysing the mastery and inherent value of paintings.
Tu Lane’s subsequent insight into the lives and works of the inspiring artists led her to build up a private collection of Vietnamese and South East Asian art. Over the years, Tu Lane has shared her passion and knowledge of the traditional and emerging artists of Vietnam and South East Asia with her friends, who encouraged her to establish a gallery.
By establishing an online gallery, the hope is to nurture and help the artists gain a wider recognition and at the same time providing a viable way to promote and sell their works.
