Mai Long

One of a few living old masters of silk paintings in Vietnam. Mai Long always uses local silk and his painstaking technique of painting on wet then dry fabric in between washing the entire work helps create a unique effect in which the meticulously selected hues radiate from the inside of the fabric to express his deep passion for traditional beauty.

“I deem it was completely unmeaning if the painting describes merely the appearance of the objective existence. I try my best to discover the latent depth, making the spirit of objects move and brighten, creating the vivid impression for their beauty” Mai Long.
